Tidal Vision Products, Inc.

Upcycling fishing industry waste into chitosan for water treatment, textiles, and agriculture

Tidal Vision is the only manufacturer chitosan in North America. The company was founded in Juneau, Alaska by Craig Kasberg and Zach Wilkinson in 2015 to process seafood by-products. It currently operates a proprietary, closed-loop chitosan production facility in Bellingham, Washington for industrial applications in water treatment, textiles and agriculture. Chitosan is an abundant, naturally occurring, biopolymer with a positive (cationic) electrostatic charge. It confers bacteriostatic and flocculating properties for water treatment; increased thermal stability, char density, and overall fire retardancy for textile applications; and elicits a Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) response in plants for broad-spectrum pathogen resistance.
