Eliminating child sexual abuse from the internet

Thorn was founded in 2012 by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Thorn's CEO, Julie Cordua, joined soon thereafter. Thorn builds software to fight human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children. Thorn advances it mission by identifying child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the internet and the Dark Web. They seek to identify exploited children and, in collaboration with law enforcement, rescue them from their captors. They also seek to prevent the distribution of CSAM by empowering small and mid-sized businesses to protect their on-line platforms.
