Pomona College

Residential liberal arts college in Southern California

Established in 1887, Pomona College is a private liberal arts college in Claremont, Calif., about 35 miles east of Los Angeles. It offers a comprehensive curriculum, with 48 majors in the arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. There are approximately 1,650 students who come from 59 nations and all 50 U.S. states with a student-faculty ratio of 8 to 1. Almost all students live in one of 16 residence halls on the 140-acre campus. Pomona is the founding member of The Claremont Colleges, a unique consortium of seven colleges and graduate schools. Pomona admits domestic applicants regardless of their ability to pay and then meets the full demonstrated need of all admitted students. 56% of students receive financial aid.
