Polaris Project
Combating human-trafficking and modern-day slavery
The Polaris Project was founded in 2002 by Derek Ellerman and Katherine Chon, then seniors at Brown University to eradicate modern-day slavery. The Polaris Project operates the National Human Trafficking Hotline connecting victims and survivors of sex and labor trafficking with services and supports to get help and stay safe. The National Hotline also receives tips about potential situations of sex and labor trafficking and facilitates reporting that information to the appropriate authorities.
