Twinstrand Biosciences was founded by Jesse Salk in 2015. The company is the developer of a next generation DNA sequencing method designed to detect ultra-rare variants of DNA molecules that are invisible to other sequencing approaches. Their technique, Duplex Sequencing, uses specialized adapters to uniquely tag both strands of individual DNA duplexes in a population, sequence and using proprietary software, read both strands of individual DNA molecules enabling researchers to get a a new generation of high-accuracy clinical diagnostics and innovative tools for scientific discovery.
