Founded in 2021 by Thaddaus Huber and Michael Cantrell, Colorado Biofactory designs proteins and engineers diverse nonconventional microbes to improve planetary health. The company utilizes circular biomanufacturing processes to transform plant-based waste into cost-effective biological products. The company’s first product is a sprayable thatch degrading enzyme. Beyond the first product, the company is developing bioactive polymers to replace pesticides and to promote plant health.
