Designer of simple and powerful biosensors for medicine and biotechnology

Founded in 2021 by Alfredo Quijano Rubio (CSO), Daniel-Adriano Silva (CEO), and David Shoultz (COO), Monod is developing rapid and accurate biosensors based on the de novo design of a modular and tunable allosteric protein mechanism. Originally developed at and in collaboration with the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington, the LucCage biosensor system combines binding, transduction, and amplification to detect a wide range of target molecules. This simple diagnostic apparatus has wide-ranging potential applications from medicine to pathogen detection in the food chain and environment.
