Andes Ag, Inc.

Delivers endophytes (symbiotic microbes) into seeds using a novel microbial delivery platform to boost row crop yield while reducing harmful chemical fertilizers

Andes Ag was founded in 2018 by Gonzalo Fuenzalida in Santiago, Chile. The company is developing a symbiotic microbiome delivery platform to significantly enhance the yields of row crops. Now based in Emeryville California and augmented by team members Tania Timmerman (CTO), PhD and Felipe Aquea (CSO), PhD, the company uses a novel and patented technology called Microprime to integrate features of the soil microbiome directly into the seed, thereby extending the enhanced seed's shelf-life and allowing for use in a variety of conditions as compared to other approaches. Additionally, Andes Ag should reduce the adverse impact on climate change and water pollution caused by current technologies.
