Developing rapid, point-of-care diagnostics

Proof Diagnostics (f/k/a Pine Trees Health) was founded in 2020 by Omar Abudayyeh, Jonathan Gootenberg, Siddharth Shenai and Feng Zhang to develop and commercialize a nucleic acid based, point-of-care diagnostic based on a single-pot CRISPR method. The swab-based test uses a novel one-step, one-pot reaction with thermophilic CRISPR Cas##* (eliminating need for multiple heaters and liquid transfer). This rapid, low-cost method allows for point-of-care and potentially over-the-counter testing platform for SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogens.
